2022 OPSWA Division II All-Ohio Teams: Matthews Jr. named DPOY

Winton Woods senior star defensive back Jermaine Matthews, Jr. helped the Warriors to a 12-1 mark with his stellar performance. Matthews, Jr. was a menace with 51 total tackles, four forced fumbles, four fumble recoveries, six interceptions including three pick-sixes and 209 interception return yards. He also had a touchdown receiving, one on a punt return and another on a kickoff return on his way to being named the 2022 OPSWA Division II Defensive Player of the Year. Matthews, Jr. is committed to Ohio State.

In more than 100 years of football, Xenia had never finished a regular season 10-0 until this fall. That accomplishment earned head coach Maurice Harden the OPSWA Division II Ohio Co-Coach of the Year honors in his second season as the Buccaneers front man.

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Division II and III football All-Ohio teams were announced Wednesday by the Ohio Prep Sportswriters Association.
