2023 Video Snapshot: West Clermont

They are going to be fast and fun to watch. West Clermont won’t be big up front but it has the wheels to produce an exciting brand of football. The offense may be the best in program history (started in 2017), expect many records to be set on this side of the ball.

The Wolves are also looking at bringing home the school’s first playoff win. West Clermont has come up empty in the postseason in each of the past three campaigns. There is plenty to motivate this squad.

Division I, Region 4
2022 RECORD: 5-6, 5-4 ECC
COACH: Nate Mahon (5-6 at West Clermont, one year; 58-48 overall, 10 years)

HONOR ROLL
Carter Lucas
, Sr, DL – The hear-and-soul of the Wolves who leads by example. The 6-foot-3, 275-pound Lucas was named OPSWA Division I Second Team All-Southwest District (DL) in 2022. He finished the year with 36 total tackles, six tackles for losses and two fumble recoveries.

Mysaun Sanders, Sr, RB – A knee injury in Week 9 against Milford ended Sanders 2022 season early. He was coming off the two best rushing performances of his career (132 yards at Lebanon and 177 yards at Anderson) when he got hurt. Still, Sanders finished 645 yards and five touchdowns on his way to Second Team All-ECC honors. He will be ready for the opener against Olentangy Orange.

Landon Toft, Sr, OL – The anchor of the Wolves o-line. Toft was named Second Team All-ECC as a junior.

OTHER RETURNEES
Bryson Earley, Sr, QB – Was very good as a dual-threat in his first year as a starter quarterback last fall. Earley amassed 1,351 yards of total offense (775 pass, 576 rush) and accounted for 25 touchdowns (13 pass, 12 rush).

Connor Prewitt, Sr, LB – Back for his third year as a starter. Prewitt has 67 total tackles, three-and-a-half sacks, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery and one interception in his career.

Carter Sleet, Sr, OLB – Provides great pressure from the outside. Sleet registered 42 total tackles, had four-and-a-half sacks and one interception in 2022.

Riley Wooldridge, Sr, WR/DB – One of the defensive leaders. Wooldridge registered 37 total tackles with a fumble recovery and an interception as a junior.

Hayden Jones, Jr, WR – A rising star who is primed for some really big nights in 2023. The lightning-fast Jones found the end zone five times on 18 receptions for 246 yards as a sophomore. He also amassed 628 all-purpose yards with 123 yards and a touchdown rushing.

Bo Rickman, Jr, RB/DB – Like Jones, Rickman is ready to have a breakout season. He contributed on both sides of the ball as a sophomore. On offense, he threw for a touchdown, ran for 118 yards and three scores on the ground. Defensively, he was in on 23 total tackles with an interception.
