Newport’s Hurry voted POW

Sean Hurry of Newport was voted the Mella Window & Carpet Cleaning Player of the Week for Week 5, tallying 1,444 votes (19.82 percent).
Hurry was in on eight total tackles (six solo), with two sacks and a fumble recovery as the Wildcats eked past Ludlow, 16-14.
He edged out Landen Schaefer of Reading and East Central’s Ryan Brotherton in the voting conducted at TriStateFootball.com this week. In total, 16 players were nominated with 7,286 votes casted.
