East Central completes repeat

INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana – The East Central Trojans captured the Class 4A IHSAA State Championship for the second straight year on Saturday as they knocked off the Northwood Panthers in convincing fashion at Lucas Oil Field, 42-14.

East Central became the first public school to repeat as Class 4A champs; repeat championships had never happened in the Trojans’ rich program history. This is the fourth overall state championship for East Central (2022, 2017, and 2014).

The Trojans sputtered a bit out of the gate in this contest, but exploded for 21 second-quarter points and never looked back.
