Elder stifles Springboro

CINCINNATI, Ohio -In a battle of the unbeaten Panthers, Elder used stout defensive play to roll past visiting Springboro in a 30-6 victory at The Pit.

Despite both offenses putting up 230 total yards on offense, it was the Elder defense that made the difference in the contest, forcing the Springboro offense into an impressive six total turnovers; including three forced fumbles and three different interceptions.

The Springboro offense got off to a good start, driving down the field with ease for a three-yard touchdown run by Matt Brunicardi. That would be the only offensive success for the Panthers, however, as the Elder defense began their crazy run of forced turnovers.

Elder’s defensive dominance was highlighted by a 31-yard pick-six by senior safety Joey DiTullio in the second quarter. Additionally, the Panthers offense was led by senior Running Back Joey Thamann, who racked up 101 yards and two touchdowns on the ground. Sophomore Quarterback Kaden Estep also threw for 138 yards and one touchdown through the air.
