Blitz 5 Top 25: Final Rankings

Moeller took over the top spot in the Blitz 5 Top 25 presented by TriStateFootball.com after Week 1 and never relinquished the position. The Crusaders finish the season atop the rankings and now look to bring home the schools fourth straight regional title.
Only three teams lost last week in the Top 25, Elder, Mason and McNicholas and they were all against ranked schools. Anderson, Cooper and Wyoming finish the regular season a perfect 10-0. It is the first perfect regular season in school history for Cooper.
Here are the final Blitz 5 Top 25 final rankings for the 2024 season:
- Moeller (9-1) – LAST WEEK: won at Muskegon (MI)(4-4), 52-27. The Crusaders carve out a season high 52 points in Week 10. They have scored 35 points or more in nine of their 10 contests. NEXT UP: 11/01 – SYCAMORE (1-9), at Mount St. Joseph University, OHSAA Division I, Region 4 playoffs.
2. Lakota West (9-1, 8-1) – LAST WEEK: won at #18 Mason (5-5, 5-4), 41-0. The Firebirds only gave up more than seven points three times with four shutouts. NEXT UP: 11/01 – WALNUT HILLS (1-9), OHSAA Division I, Region 4 playoffs.
3. Anderson (10-0, 9-0) – LAST WEEK: won at Loveland (3-7, 3-6), 49-23. The Raptors finish the regular season unbeaten for the first time since 2009. NEXT UP: 11/01 – EDGEWOOD (3-7), OHSAA Division II, Region 8 playoffs.
4. Cooper (10-0, 5-0) – LAST WEEK: won at Dixie Heights (3-6, 2-3), 63-21. Receiver Isaiah Johnson’s 47 career touchdown receptions are tied for eighth most in Kentucky history. NEXT UP: 11/08 – TBD, KHSAA Class 5A playoffs.
5. Winton Woods (9-1, 8-1) – LAST WEEK: Beat Lebanon (6-4, 5-4), 28-14. Sophomore running back Isaiah Johnson has run for 110 yards or more three times in the last four games including a career high 174 yards last week . NEXT UP: 11/01 – LITTLE MIAMI (1-9), OHSAA Division I, Region 4 playoffs.
6. St. Xavier (7-3) – LAST WEEK: beat Life Christian Academy (1-8), 62-0. Eight different Bombers found the end zone in the regular season finale. It was the first touchdowns of the year for five of those players. NEXT UP: 11/01 – MILFORD (4-6), OHSAA Division I, Region 4 playoffs.
7. Hamilton (8-2, 7-2) – LAST WEEK: beat Sycamore (1-9, 1-8), 50-3. Gracen Goldsmith sets the school record with 23 rushing touchdowns in a season. NEXT UP: 11/01 – OAK HILLS (4-6), OHSAA Division I, Region 4 playoffs.
8. Princeton (8-2, 8-1) – LAST WEEK: beat Colerain (0-10, 0-9), 41-3. Senior P.J. Nelson has 55.5 tackles for losses and 21.0 sacks in his career. NEXT UP: 11/01 – FAIRFIELD (2-8), OHSAA Division I, Region 4 playoffs.
9. Lakota East (7-3, 7-2) – LAST WEEK: won at Oak Hills (4-6, 4-5), 24-6. Junior Ryder Hooks has run for more than 190 yards twice in the last four weeks. NEXT UP: 11/01 – #15 WEST CLERMONT (7-3), OHSAA Division I, Region 4 playoffs.
10. Ryle (7-2, 3-0) – LAST WEEK: at Simon Kenton (4-5, 1-2), 37-0. Junior Jacob Savage has scored 17 of the Raiders 36 offensive touchdowns. NEXT UP: 11/01 – DIXIE HEIGHTS (3-6).
11. Highlands (8-2, 4-1) – LAST WEEK: beat Scott (2-7, 1-5), 63-13. Seven different Bluebirds caught touchdown passes against Scott. NEXT UP: 11/08 – TBD, KHSAA Class 5A playoffs.
12. La Salle (8-2, 1-2) – LAST WEEK: won at then #12 Elder (5-5, 0-3), 35-24. The Lancers seniors collected their first ever GCL South win last Friday. NEXT UP: 11/01 – MONROE (4-6), OHSAA Division II, Region 8 playoffs.
13. Covington Catholic (7-2, 4-0) – LAST WEEK: beat Mason County (7-2, 3-1), 49-0. The Colonels have run for 43 touchdowns in nine contests. NEXT UP: 11/01 – at Campbell County (2-7).
14. Elder (5-5, 0-3) – LAST WEEK: lost to then #13 La Salle (8-2, 1-2), 35-24. The Panthers limp into the postseason having lost four of their last five contests. NEXT UP: 11/01 – #18 MASON (5-5), OHSAA Division I, Region 4 playoffs.
15. West Clermont (7-3, 6-3) – LAST WEEK: won at Little Miami (1-9, 1-8), 17-7. The Wolves have 25 offensive touchdowns, 22 of those have been rushing. NEXT UP: 11/01 – at #9 Lakota East (7-3), OHSAA Division I, Region 4 playoffs.
16. Kings (8-2, 7-2) – LAST WEEK: won at Walnut Hills (1-9, 0-9), 42-0. The Knights have shutout three of their last four opponents and have only given up seven points in that span. NEXT UP: 11/01 – WITHROW (5-5), OHSAA Division II, Region 8 playoffs.
17. Badin (8-2, 5-0) – LAST WEEK: won at #24 McNicholas (8-2, 5-0), 10-6. The Rams have now won six consecutive GCL Co-ed titles. NEXT UP: 11/01 – TROTWOOD-MADISON (5-5), OHSAA Division II, Region 8 playoffs.
18. Mason (5-5, 5-5) – LAST WEEK: lost to #2 Lakota West (9-1, 8-1), 41-0. The Comets have advanced to the third round of the playoffs in each of the past two seasons. NEXT UP: 11/01 – at #14 Elder (5-5), OHSAA Division I, Region 4 playoffs.
19. Harrison (8-2, 3-0) – LAST WEEK: beat Northwest (2-8, 0-3), 42-6. The Wildcats have won back-to-back SWOC championships for the first time in school history. NEXT UP: 11/01 – TROY (6-4), OHSAA Division II, Region 8 playoffs.
20. East Central (6-3) – LAST WEEK: Bye. The Trojans are 101-36 all-time in IHSAA playoff games. NEXT UP: 11/1 – at Seymour (4-5), IHSAA Class 5A, Sectional 14 playoffs.
21. Middletown (5-5, 4-5) – LAST WEEK: won at Fairfield (2-8, 2-7), 23-0. The Middies are on a quest for their first playoff victory since 2011. NEXT UP: 11/01 – at Wayne (5-5), OHSAA Division I, Region 2 playoffs.
22. Beechwood (9-1, 5-0) – LAST WEEK: won at Bracken County (7-2, 4-1), 38-7. During their current five-game winning streak the Tigers have outscored their victims, 271-7. NEXT UP: 11/08 – TBD, KHSAA Class 2A playoffs.
23. Wyoming (10-0, 7-0) – LAST WEEK: beat Finneytown (1-9, 0-7), 36-3. The Cowboys are CHL champs for the eighth time in the last nine years. They have only lost one league game in that span. NEXT UP: 11/01 – SHRODER (7-2), OHSAA Division IV, Region 16 playoffs.
24. McNicholas (8-1, 4-0) – LAST WEEK: lost to Badin (8-2, 5-0), 10-6. The Rockets are allowing just 8.0 points per game. They have only given up more than 10 points once in the last nine weeks. NEXT UP: 11/01 – CELINA (6-4), OHSAA Division III, Region 12 playoffs.
25. Mount Healthy (8-2, 2-1) – LAST WEEK: won at Waverly (5-5), 46-21. Junior Ace Cooper had five receptions all for touchdowns and 284 yards receiving against Waverly. NEXT UP: 11/01 – AIKEN (6-3), OHSAA Division II, Region 8 playoffs.
