CINCINNATI, Ohio The Blitz 5 Game of the Week took us out to the east side for the battle of Forest Hills. Host Anderson has looked unstoppable and aimed for its first undefeated regular season since 2009.

Visiting Turpin looked to ruin their rival Raptors aspirations. The Spartans have dropped the last four in the series by an average of 24.7 points. The Turpin seniors were in seventh grade the last time the school was victorious against Anderson.

Durell Turner rushed for three scores and Caden Piening had three touchdown receptions as Anderson continued their undefeated season with a rout of rival Turpin. The Raptors had their offense flowing early and often as they entertained their home crowd from the outset with precision execution. Quarterback Justice Burnam got things going early with a strike to Piening for a 7-0 lead. Not much later the duo would hook up again for another long touchdown pass. It was 14-0 in the blink of an eye.

After Turpin was able to answer, it was tailback Durrel Turner’s time to dominate the game. Turner rushed for three consecutive scores of nine, 76, and three yards to put the game out of reach and send the home team to a big win in front of a big crowd. Piening would tack on another score with a 33-yard reception late. Trace Jallick continued his streak of games with a touchdown as he scored on a 47-yard reception in the fourth quarter. Alex Stanyard recovered a fumble for a touchdown as well.

The Anderson defense continues to be a story this season as they have held all of their opponents low in the scoring column. The Raptors are doing more than just relying on their prolific offense and have given themselves a legitimate chance to win on the big stage.

POSTGAME INTERVIEW: Evan Dreyer, Anderson

In the end it was Anderson who was just too much for the Spartans and continued their dominance in the series as of late. The Raptors have now won five straight in the series and have their eyes set on a number one seed in division II. The Raptors hope to get back to that state championship game and come away with a championship for their school and community. Both teams continue in ECC action next week.
