Anderson made their way back to the state final four and some Senators made history at Taft in our Cincinnati Round-Up.

DIVISION II, REGION 8

NO. 1 ANDERSON 28, NO. 2 LA SALLE 21

Anderson used their high-powered offense to continue their dominant season and beat La Salle in the regional final on Friday night. With the win the Raptors advanced to the state final four for the second consecutive season. The Raptors air raid offense was in full effect once again as quarterback Justice Burnam had it going from the outset. Burnam although pass heavy, scored his touchdowns on the ground in this game. Burnam rushed for three scores in the redzone after having big passing drives as the leader of the Raptors. Durrell Turner added a touchdown run as well as Anderson was able to do just enough to get past the Lancers. The Raptors defense was once again up to the challenge as they were able to hold the Lancers down just enough.

Claude Moore scored on a pick six for the Lancers. Brady O’Conner scored two touchdowns on the night as well for La Salle. The Lancers gave maximum effort to give Anderson their toughest game of the season, but it was not enough to pull them through. Anderson will play in the state semifinal on November 29th against Big Walnut.

DIVISION IV, REGION 16

NO. 5 TAFT 26, NO. 10 ALTER 12

Taft punched their ticket to the state final four for the first time in school history with a dominating victory over Alter on Friday night. The Senators led 20-6 at the half and were never threatened by the Knights in the ball game. Taft used their speed and elusiveness to blow past Alter. The Knights could not keep pace from the start.

Monsanna Torbert and Nijia Hill both scored touchdowns for the Senators. Both broke free into the secondary and made defenders miss as they made their way to the endzone. The Taft defense also was magnificent on the night. The defense flew around the field and never let Alter get any momentum going. Taft advances to the state final four next week.
