2024 TSF Dayton OPOY: Garrett Lundy
- Updated: February 18, 2025

There are very few players that were as productive as Waynesville (9-4) star Garrett Lundy was last fall. His efforts saw him be named the 2024 TriState Football Dayton Offensive Player of the Year, as TSF paid tribute to the area’s finest from Cincinnati, Northern Kentucky, Dayton and Southeast Indiana at the TriState Football Year in Review Show on Monday night, in front of a packed house at the Holy Grail in downtown Cincinnati.

The senior ran for 1,244 yards, averaged 7.0 yards per carry, caught 64 balls for 1,113 yards, averaged 17.4 yards per reception, amassed 2,889 all-purpose yards (532 ret) and found the end zone 32 times (19 rush, 11 rec, one KR, one IR) as the Spartans made it to the regional semifinals for a second straight year. On defense, Lundy had 101 tackles, two-and-a-half sacks, five-and-a-half tackles for losses, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery, four pass breakups, three interceptions and a pick-six.
That work also earned Lundy OPSMA Division V First Team All-Ohio (RB), SWBL Buckeye Co-OPOY, First Team All-TSF (ATH) and TSF Dayton OPOY Finalist (for a second straight season) accolades.
An amazing career saw Lundy rack up 6,534 all-purpose yards, 4,111 yards rushing, 133 receptions for 1,799 yards, 1,965 kickoff, punt, fumble recovery and interception return yards, 49 rushing touchdowns, 19 receiving touchdowns, four kickoff return touchdowns, one scoop-and-score, one pick-six, one passing touchdown, 332 tackles, three-and-a-half sacks, 19.5 tackles for losses, five forced fumbles, 12 pass breakups and 14 takeaways (seven FRs, seven INTs).
The other finalists for the 2024 TSF Dayton Offensive Player of the Year were seniors Alex Amburgy (Waynesville), Brock Baker (Fairmont), Jackson Davis (Tippecanoe), Tyrell Lewis (Wayne), Emory Severance (Ross) along with juniors Shane Cole (Centerville) and Deaunte White (Xenia).
This is the second finalist nomination for Garrett Lundy. He becomes just the 11th player in the 16 years of the TSF Dayton OPOY award to be nominated two times (or more). Raveion Hargrove (Trotwood-Madison, 2015-’17) and Jacob Harrison (Chaminade Julienne/Centerville, 2010-’12) were three-time finalists.
