2024 TSF Indiana DPOY: Noah Knigga

What Noah Knigga did on the football field last season will cement his place as one of the best defensive players in the history of Lawrenceburg (10-2) football. His performance as a senior led him to being named the 2024 TriState Football Indiana Defensive Player of the Year, as TSF paid tribute to the area’s finest from Cincinnati, Northern Kentucky, Dayton and Southeast Indiana at the TriState Football Year in Review Show on Monday night, in front of a packed house at the Holy Grail in downtown Cincinnati.

Knigga was the alpha-beast, on a defense that allowed just 9.7 points per contest and held seven foes to eight points or less with three shutouts. He tallied 111 tackles, had seven sacks, 25.0 tackles for losses, four forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and two interceptions. On offense, Knigga accounted for seven touchdowns (three rush, two rec, two pass) on 15 touches (seven rush, six rec, two pass). That earned him a spot on the IFCA Top 50 as well as EIAC Legends Defensive Player of the Year, CTESPN Athlete of the Year and First Team All-TSF honors.

In his four years as a starter, Lawrenceburg went a combined 42-9 (.823 winning %) with a state runner-up appearance (2022) and two sectional championships (2021-22). Those 42 wins are tied for second most in a four-year period in school history (42-8 from 1984-87). The program went 46-3 from 1978-81.

Knigga is off to Eastern Michigan after graduation to continue playing for the Eagles. He finished his career as a Tiger with 300 tackles, 18.0 sacks, 64.0 tackles for losses, nine forced fumbles and eight takeaways (five FRs, three INTs).

This is the 14th year of this TSF Indiana Defensive Player of the Year  award and Knigga is just the third Tiger to win the award joining alums Jake Pierce (2022), Mason Parris (2016-17).
