2024 TSF Kentucky OPOY: Cam O’Hara

It was one of the most prolific passing seasons in Kentucky history as Cooper (14-1) quarterback Cam O’Hara put up eye-popping numbers. His work saw him be named the 2024 TriState Football Kentucky Offensive Player of the Year, as TSF paid tribute to the area’s finest from Cincinnati, Northern Kentucky, Dayton and Southeast Indiana at the TriState Football Year in Review Show on Monday night, in front of a packed house at the Holy Grail in downtown Cincinnati.

The junior threw for 3,617 yards and 52 touchdowns (third most in the state and 14th most in a single season in Kentucky history) with only three interceptions while guiding the Jaguars to their first undefeated regular season in program history and second straight Class 5A state finals appearance. He also added another 186 yards and four more scores on the ground.

Those efforts also earned O’Hara First Team All-NKY, Second Team All-TSF (for a second straight year) and TSF NKY OPOY finalist (for a second straight year) accolades.

With one more year to go, O’Hara’s 120 passing touchdowns and 8,996 yards passing are already the most in NKY history (Boone, Kenton and Campbell Counties). He heads into his senior campaign needing 52 more touchdown passes to set the Kentucky career record (171 by Jack James, Paducah Tilghman from 2021-24). He also has 228 yards rushing and five rushing touchdowns in a Cooper uniform. O’Hara has offers from Kentucky, Western Kentucky, Miami (OH), Akron, BGSU, Austin Peay and Tennessee State.

The other 2024 TSF Kentucky Offensive Player of the Year finalists included seniors Chase Flaherty (Beechwood), Armani Gregg (Dixie Heights), Wyatt Hatfield (Conner), Clay Hayden (Beechwood), Isaiah Johnson (Cooper) along with juniors Kaleb Evans (Lloyd Memorial) and Cash Harney (Covington Catholic).

This is the 18th year of this award, O’Hara, teammate Isaiah Johnson and Clay Hayden become the 21st, 22nd and 23rd players to be nominated for this honor two times. O’Hara joins Dante Hendrix (2016) as the only Cooper players to be named TSF Kentucky Offensive Player of the Year.
