What an encore performance from Cooper (14-1) last fall. The Jaguars followed up their state runner-up finish in 2023 with the program’s first ever undefeated regular season, four wins against state semifinalists and another trip to the Class 5A state championship where they fell just short to Bowling Green, again. Those efforts saw Cooper be named the  2024 TriState Football Kentucky Team of the Year as TSF paid tribute to the area’s finest from Cincinnati, Northern Kentucky, Dayton and Southeast Indiana at the TriState Football Year in Review Show on Monday night, in front of a packed house at the Holy Grail in downtown Cincinnati.

The explosive Cooper offense led Class 5A with 664 points scored, and averaged 44.3 points and 377.9 yards of total offense per game (242.1 pass, 135.8 rush). The Jaguars scored 41 points or more 11 times with five outbursts of 56+ points. The unit found the end zone 85 times (52 pass, 33 rush).

Defensively, Cooper allowed just 16.8 points per contest and held seven foes to 15 points or fewer. They also created 35 turnovers (22 INTs, 13 FRs). The defense and special teams combined for 10 touchdowns (four KRs, three IRs, two FRs, one PR).

Many Jaguars were honored with All-NKY and TriState Football accolades. Senior defensive lineman Austin Alexander was named First Team All-NKY (for a fourth straight season), NKFCA Top 26, First Team All-TSF (for a third straight season) and TSF NKY Defensive Player of the Year (for the second time in three years). Junior Cam O’Hara was named First Team All-NKY, Second Team All-TSF and TSF NKY Offensive Player of the Year. Senior receiver Isaiah Johnson was named First Team All-NKY (for a third straight year), NKFCA Top 26, First Team All-TSF and TSF NKY Offensive Player of the Year finalist (for a second straight year). Ryker Campbell was named Second Team All-NKY, Honorable Mention All-TSF and TSF NKY Defensive Player of the Year Finalist. Senior offensive lineman Christian Brown was named First Team All-NKY. Senior linebacker Mason Stanton was named First Team All-NKY. Senior Isaac Brown was named First Team All-NKY and Honorable Mention All-TSF. Senior Jaiden Combs was named Second Team All-NKY (WR) and Third Team All-TSF (RS). Junior running back Keagan Maher was named Second Team All-NKY. Senior defensive lineman Michael Mulvihill was named Honorable Mention All-TSF.

Entering the record books were Johnson, O’Hara and Alexander. Johnson had 24 touchdowns receptions (tied for 8th most in a single season, in Kentucky history). He finished his career with 173 receptions (22nd most in Kentucky history), 3,343 yards receiving (13th most in Kentucky history) and 53 touchdown catches (tied for 7th most in Kentucky history). O’Hara threw for 52 touchdowns passes (third most in the state and 14th most in a single season in Kentucky history). His 120 passing touchdowns and 8,996 yards passing are the most in NKY history. Alexander finished his career with 158 receptions (28th most in Kentucky history), 2,522 receiving yards (40th most in Kentucky history), 39 touchdown receptions (tied 14th most in Kentucky history).

Randy Borchers has been the only head in the history of the Cooper program. He has a 110-91 record with three state runner-up finishes, in 17 years at the school.

This is the 18th year of this award. Cooper is the fifth team to be named the TriState Football NKY Team of the Year in back-to-back seasons.
