2025 Snapshot: Gamble Montessori

To say that first year head coach Will Davis is facing an uphill battle at Gamble Montessori would be a serious understatement. The Gators head into 2025 on a 10-game losing streak. The team had a 45.1 point average margin of defeat and only scored 22 points last season. There is only one way to for the program and that is up.

Gamble Montessori will be young and lacking Friday night lights experience, returning just four starters on offense and five on defense. That may not be a bad thing for Davis who can mold his squad to his liking. “We are looking to wake guys up, play fast and hit,” Davis states.

The Gators will build on their strengths of speed, height and discipline as well as a few key pieces they have coming back. “We will lean heavily on Q’Moni Bankhead, Reggie Golden, Mali Stevenson, King McCrary and Aboubacar Diagouraga,” Davis says.

The schedule is set up for a confidence boosting start. Gamble Montessori won’t play a team that finished above .500 last fall until Week 7. Nothing cures ills on the football field better than victories and that will do wonders for Davis and his young team. The Gator could be one of the feel good stories of the year if they can get off to a strong start in August and September.

Division IV, Region 16
2025 RECORD: 0-8, 0-2 CMAC Blue
HEAD COACH: Will Davis (0-0 at Gamble Montessori, first year; 0-0 overall)

HONOR ROLL
Malikah Stevenson, Sr, C/DE – The Gators will rely on Stevenson and his senior leadership. He is the teams top returning tackler and was named Second Team All-CMAC Blue as a junior.

Tony Hayes, Jr, WR/DB – An Honorable Mention All-CMAC Blue performer a year ago, Hayes should see his production explode over the next two seasons.

Sanounou, Nimiga, Jr, RB/LB – One position that Gamble Montessori has questions at is linebacker. Nimiga needs to show the way for others at the position. He was named Honorable Mention All-CMAC Blue in 2024.

OTHER RETURNEES
Q’Moni Bankhead, So, RB/LB – The ceiling for Bankhead is high. He has all-district talent.

Aboubacar Diagouraga, So, WR/DB – A tall target at 6-foot-3, Diagouraga will be a factor on both sides of the ball.

Reggie Golden, So, OG/DT – The Gators will look for Golden to set the tone in the trenches.

King McCrary, Jr, DB – Has a real nose for the ball. McCrary had nine pass breakups as a sophomore.

NEWCOMERS
Davis is looking for Junior Patterson, Jomir Howard (6-foot-7, 226-pounds), Mikelle Jones, Mohamed Mangure, Carleek Reese, Brandon West and Camari Hill-Jones to step in and fill voids on both sides of the ball.
