It’s the inaugural season on the gridiron for St. Henry District and if it follows in the footsteps of the other varsity sports at the school sustained success in football is only a short time away. The Crusaders are going to find out just what it is going to take to reach the apex being pitted in the same district with reigning Class 2A state champion, Beechwood.
Building a program isn’t easy and requires patience but St. Henry found the right man to lay the foundation, in revered veteran coordinator, Tim Odom. “It’s exciting times at St. Henry,” Odom states exuberantly!
On offense, Odom’s squad will use multi formations with a balanced attack between the pass and run. Defensively, the Crusaders will run a 3-4 base over and under. Executing those schemes will be no easy task. “We lack experience playing football and lack size,” Odom says.
Despite the inexperience Odom will lean on his team’s strengths. “We are intelligent, disciplined and tough.” He couldn’t ask for any better quality characteristics from the first players who are setting the tone for the future of St. Henry District Football.
