For the first time since the late ‘70’s there were no state champions from Southwest Ohio, Northern Kentucky or Southeast Indiana. All TSF-area schools from the Bluegrass and Hoosier states will start 2026 having lost their last games (in the playoffs) a year ago. A large portion of our teams from the Buckeye state are in the same boat also having bowed out of the postseason last fall. That leaves the Meadowdale Lions with owning the honors of being the team with the longest local winning streak heading into next year at a modest three victories in a row and counting.
Anderson heads into ‘26 with the longest regular season winning streak at 26 games. The Raptors were one of eight teams that went unbeaten during the regular season last fall.
Holmes has the distinction of having the area’s longest current losing streak. The Bulldogs are one of six teams to have gone winless a year ago.
Under the guidance of head coach Aaron Hancock, Wyoming topped the 10 win mark for the 10th consecutive year. In that span, the Cowboys have finished the regular season unbeaten eight times. The program has compiled a 122-11 record (.917 winning %), gone 28-9 in the playoffs (.757 winning %) and won at least 12 games on seven occasions during the run.

In Southwest Ohio, Alter and Clinton-Massie are the only two schools that have been to the playoffs 20 consecutive years or more. There are eight local schools that have made the postseason at least 10 years in a row.
