The injury gremlins were relentless against Madeira a year ago. It started in the first quarter of the first game when senior leader and quarterback Braeden Wallace was lost for the season with a knee injury. From there, the dominos would continue to fall. The Mustangs would use four more players under center throughout the campaign and the walking wounded continued to mount. The team was out of gas by the time October rolled around and Madeira dropped its final four contests after a 4-2 start. Head coach Chris Stewart has his stable of ponies ready to bust out of their stalls and be factors in the 2026 CHL title race.
