A rough first year in the tenure of Evan Crim at his alma mater saw Madison win just one game while fielding a roster that also had many who were in their inaugural campaign under the Friday night lights. With a season under his belt and the players being in his system, Crim is optimistic that the program’s fortunes are about to change.
The Mohawks have been mired in futility since Crim last played. They haven’t finished over .500 since going 12-1 and winning the regional championship in 2018 (Crim’s senior season). Madison has gone a combined 19-52 in the seven years since that title.
Look for the Mohawks to be far more competitive this fall but racking up a boatload of victories won’t be easy against a slate that will see them play four teams that won at least 10 games in 2025. On the bright side, all but one team in Division V, Region 20 that finished 5-5 or better a year ago made the playoffs. That is a reasonable and attainable goal for this Madison squad.
