Badin blasts Hamilton on campus for the first time

HAMILTON, Oh. – It was set to be an emotional evening for the #24 Badin Rams, not only hosting their city rival in the #17 Hamilton Big Blue, but doing it for the first time on the Badin campus after years of using Hamilton’s stadium for their home games.

And the Rams did not disappoint their fans, romping to a 33-7 victory over the Big Blue to open the Matandy SportsPlex at Badin on a winning note.

Badin took control early, jumping out to a 7-0 lead on a 48-yard run by Chase Even, and increased that lead to 20-0 at halftime. Two more second-half scores, one an 80-yard run by running back LT King and the other a 52-yard TD pass from quarterback Jimmy Gajewski to wideout Hudson Heid, and it was 33-0 before a late fourth-quarter touchdown by the Big Blue avoided the shutout.

The Rams move to 1-0 on the season, and will host Dixie Heights, who lost 42-13 to Simon Kenton Friday night, in Week 2. Hamilton falls to 0-1 on the year and travels to Greater Miami Conference rival Colerain, who lost 30-21 to rival LaSalle, next week.
