Week 4 has arrived here in the high school football season. Three weeks of high level football have occurred and things are only heating up as we head towards the halfway point of the season. Last week was filled with great matchups that provided us with great plays and great games. In week 3 we saw big wins from Elder, Lakota East, Covington Catholic, and Springboro. These four teams went out and handled business from the opening kickoff an were able to get wins in an effort to springboard their seasons. These teams as well as others will be looking to continue that trend this week as some teams will be looking to bounce back from a week 3 defeat.
Here in week four we have a slate of games that are sure to be high quality and entertaining. We can expect fireworks all night as Anderson travels north to Lebanon. Wyoming visits Indian Hill in a CHL showdown. Withrow heads west to Harrison and Fairfield travels 275 west to Colerain. Buckle your seat belts as it’s time to roll. Here are the Best Bets for week 4.
#6 Anderson at #16 Lebanon
Anderson is once again off to a great start in ECC play sitting at 2-0. After a week one out of conference loss, the Raptors have found their typical offensive rhythm in the last week weeks. Anderson has outscored its conference opponents 121-33 in the last two weeks as they have been essentially unstoppable on the offensive side of the ball. Owen Scalf has passed for 722 yards and 10 TD. The passing attack has been back on track and Tysin Weaver has been the number one target through the air. Defensively, Antwoine Higgins and Ace Alston have been doing their thing at linebacker and defensive back.

Lebanon is undefeated in three weeks of football and have been pretty dominant in their first three outings. The Warriors have outscored their opponents 114-44 and have earned comfortable wins in their first three games. The running game has been the bread and butter for Lebanon so far this season and veteran running back Logan Schmenk has been the main source of production. Schmenk leads the league with 644 yards and 9 TD on the ground. The Mason Reed to Wyatt Lassen connection has been effective in the passing game as well.
This is a big early season ECC collision. Bet on Anderson to get things done on the road.
#24 Wyoming at Indian Hill
The Cowboys sit at 3-0 and are feeling the same type of mojo that sent them on deep runs in years past. David Dupee is back at quarterback and has already thrown for 722 yards and 11 TD. His top two targets of Brylan Miltenberger (339) and Donovan Brown (266) rank as the top two pass catchers in the CHL. Defensively, Charlie Walker and Tyler Johnson-Huff have led a defense that is much improved from a season ago.

Indian Hill has a physical running game that can prove to be hard to stop once it is able to get going. Jacob Alexander is the leading rusher out of the backfield and he has done some damage early in the season by running the ball hard. Devlan Daniel is a dual threat quarterback who can have break out games rushing or passing. On defense the Braves look to experienced linebacker Topher Wachtel who has been making plays on that side of the ball for a couple of years now.
Indian Hill will try and control the tempo in this one. Wyoming will look to put up all kinds of points. Bet on the Cowboys to stay undefeated.
#12 Withrow at #23 Harrison
The Withrow Tigers suffered their first defeat of the season last week to a tough Springboro team. Sa’Vion Davis has been a huge threat for Withrow at quarterback being able to beat teams with his arm as well as with his legs. Running back Dion Clardy is another weapon that can make a house call on any given snap and Charles Alexander Jr. is the offense’s number one receiving target. Joshua Erkins and Mister Achoe have led the Tigers defense to some pretty solid performances even in their loss last week.

Harrison has one of the area’s most balanced offensive attacks and have used it well to get off to a 3-0 start. Brady Lawhorn has the experience and skillset at quarterback to lead a team to big wins. His top targets of Colton Rehage and Kyle Davidson provide solid receiving threats on both sides of the field. Wyatt Dennis has held down the rushing attack by being physical in the trenches and showing some breakaway speed in the open field.
This game could go either way. Bet on Withrow to pull off a road win.
#19 Fairfield at #18 Colerain
Corrious Booker ranks third in the GMC in rushing and has been much of the offensive power for Fairfield so far this season. The Indians will be looking for quarterback Sean Clore to dish it out to his stable of wideouts and provide a better punch in the passing game. Defensively Kobe Lewis leads the team with 4 sacks but the secondary will need to be on their toes here in week 4.

Colerain sits at 2-2 and are having a bit of a resurgence so far this season. The Cardinals have used a solid passing attack to get themselves in position to get some big wins. Roman Garr ranks first in the GMC with 863 yards passing and spreads the wealth around to as many as five wideouts or more per game. Forrester, Smith, Flagg Jr., Evans, and Jacobs all can make plays once they get their hands on the ball.
Colerain is getting a little mojo back. Bet on the Cardinals to protect home.
