TriStateFootball.com is proud to once again recognize the Tri-State’s top high school football performances with the Mella Window & Carpet Cleaning Player of the Week throughout the 2026 season.
Each week, players from Greater Cincinnati, Northern Kentucky and Eastern Indiana are nominated based on standout performances from the previous weekend. The TSF staff selects the finalists, and then it’s up to the fans to determine the winner.
Voting is open now through Wednesday at 12 p.m. ET. Fans may vote once per hour, per IP address. Voting activity is monitored, and any votes determined to be fraudulent or an attempt to manipulate the results may be removed.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK RULES
- Players may win the Mella Window & Carpet Cleaning Player of the Week award only once during the season.
- A player may be nominated a maximum of three times during the season.
- Weekly nominees are selected by the TriStateFootball.com staff based on performances from across the Tri-State.
- Fans may vote once per hour, per IP address.
- Voting closes each Wednesday at 12 p.m. ET.
All weekly winners will be recognized at the TriStateFootball.com Year in Review Show following the season and will receive a commemorative Player of the Week plaque.

Brady Boruske, Bishop Brossart, Sr., WR — Had nine receptions for 234 yards and two touchdowns, including scores of 70 and 80 yards, in a 27-7 win over Bracken County.
Carter Breedlove, Edgewood, Sr., RB/DB — Found the end zone twice, ran for 207 yards and added nine tackles and a forced fumble as the Cougars held on to beat Bishop Fenwick, 28-27.
Jack Denier, Harrison, Sr., DB — Delivered one of Friday night’s defining defensive plays, taking a deflected pass approximately 102 yards from goal line to goal line for a pick-six that sealed No. 23 Harrison’s 22-13 upset of No. 12 Withrow and a 4-0 start.
Jeremiah DesJardins, MVCA, Sr., QB/DB — Accounted for three touchdowns (two rushing, one passing), ran for 166 yards and threw for 122 yards in his first varsity start at quarterback while adding seven tackles and a sack as the Lions shocked Western Hills, 21-20.
Brian Ferguson, Holy Cross, Jr., QB — Threw for 257 yards and four touchdowns as Holy Cross moved to 4-0 with a 42-12 victory over Holmes.
Roman Garr, Colerain, Jr., QB — Completed 29-of-33 passes for 318 yards and three touchdowns and added a rushing score in the Cardinals’ 34-28 overtime win over Fairfield.
Crue Gilmour, Lawrenceburg, Sr., QB — Accounted for five touchdowns (three passing, two rushing) in a 49-3 win over Greensburg.
Jaden Hornbeck, Kings, Sr., RB — Had 11 carries for 104 yards and three touchdowns in the Knights’ 45-14 Blitz 5 Game of the Week victory over West Clermont.
Tyler Johnson-Huff, Wyoming, Sr., RB/LB — Scored three rushing touchdowns in a wild 48-47 triple-overtime win over Indian Hill, including the 7-yard score in the third overtime. He also recovered a critical fourth-quarter fumble at the Wyoming 14 and collected 16 tackles in one of the night’s biggest performances.
Josiiah “JoJo” Jones, Winton Woods, Jr., QB — Threw four touchdown passes to four different receivers as the Warriors blasted Turpin, 45-7, and remained unbeaten in ECC play.
Malachi Kennedy, Dayton, Jr., RB — Had 19 carries for 267 yards and [NUMBER] touchdowns in a 48-26 win over Ludlow as the Greendevils moved to 4-0.
Kiyan Miller, Covington Catholic, So., RB — Carried the ball 11 times for 157 yards and three touchdowns in the first half as the Colonels demolished Dixie Heights, 56-7.
Ryan Minges, East Central, Sr., RB — Carried the ball 11 times for 168 yards and four touchdowns as the Trojans shut out previously unbeaten Franklin County, 35-0.
Lucas Pate, St. Henry District, Sr., RB/LB — Churned out 153 yards and a pair of touchdowns on the ground as the Crusaders toppled Bellevue, 49-14.
Kellan Sprankles, Loveland, Jr., QB — Accounted for three touchdowns (two rushing, one passing) and ran for 74 yards as the Tigers beat Milford in a 36-35 thriller.
Braxton Thurman, Lakota East, Sr., WR — Reeled in 11 receptions for 127 yards, including the fourth-quarter touchdown that put the Thunderhawks ahead for good as they edged Mason, 24-20.
Lincoln Tomlinson, Lloyd Memorial, Jr., RB/LB — Recorded 10 solo tackles, 3.0 tackles for loss and two forced fumbles while adding 94 yards and a touchdown on the ground as the Juggernauts got past Aiken to improve to 4-0.
Jake Van Gorden, Talawanda, So., QB — Threw for 241 yards and four touchdowns as the Braves blanked Franklin, 35-0, and moved to 4-0 on the season.
Tyler Watkins, Clermont Northeastern, Sr., RB/LB — Had eight carries for 91 yards and three touchdowns while adding six tackles and 2.0 sacks in a 49-16 win over Shroder.
Tysin Weaver, Anderson, Sr., WR — Hauled in six receptions for 267 yards and three touchdowns, scoring from 81, 43 and 63 yards out in the Raptors’ rout of Lebanon.
