Talawanda dominates, beats Northwest

Talawanda jumped out to a 21-3 halftime lead and were never threatened in a home win against Northwest on Friday night. Tailback Lance Cantrell continued his superb season as he rushed for 176 yards and three touchdowns on the night. The Brave as a team rushed for 226 yards on the night as they dominated the line of scrimmage en route to the big win.

The Talawanda defense was up to task as they forced three Northwest turnovers. Kemper McAfee had two interceptions and Windon Lowe added a third interception that he returned 55 yards for a touchdown. Lowe also led the team with six tackles for a big night defensively. The dominant defensive effort really gave the Brave momentum as they methodically extended their lead,

Talawanda would add 14 more points in the second half for a 35-3 victory. The Brave are 7-0 and host Harrison next week in a SWOC showdown.
