Lawrenceburg blanks South Dearborn

LAWRENCEBURG, Indiana – Lawrenceburg made a statement in Eastern Indiana Athletic Conference action Friday night, riding a four-touchdown performance from Brogan Wynn and a pair of explosive passing plays to shut out South Dearborn, 40-0, at Backman Field.

The Tigers controlled the contest from start to finish, combining a punishing ground attack with a defense that kept the Knights off the scoreboard throughout the evening.

Wynn wasted little time establishing himself, opening the scoring with a seven-yard touchdown run in the first quarter. Lawrenceburg carried a 6-0 advantage into the second period before its offense found another gear.

Wynn broke loose for a 23-yard touchdown run with 6:55 remaining before halftime, extending the lead to 13-0. He completed his first-half hat trick with a two-yard scoring plunge with 1:15 left, sending the Tigers into the locker room ahead 20-0.

The second half featured a different dimension of Lawrenceburg’s offense.

Quarterback Crue Gilmour connected with Mason Manford for a 56-yard touchdown strike to push the advantage to 26-0. The duo wasn’t finished, hooking up again for a 73-yard scoring play that stretched the lead to 33-0.

Wynn delivered the final blow with a 30-yard touchdown run over the right side, completing his four-touchdown night and accounting for 62 yards on his four scoring carries alone.

The Tigers finished with six touchdowns, four on the ground and two through the air, while their defense completed the shutout.

For Lawrenceburg, the convincing victory provided another strong performance against an EIAC opponent as the Tigers prepare for the Indiana state tournament. South Dearborn will look to regroup after struggling to generate offense against its conference rival.
