Patton named 2014 TSF Indiana OPOY
- Updated: February 13, 2015
A rough 0-3 start saw East Central (8-4) in dire need of leadership and that is when junior quarterback Luke Patton stepped in. The Trojans won eight in a row before and Patton became the first player in the program’s 41-year history to run and pass for more than 1,000 yards. His efforts earned him the 2014 TriStateFootball.com Indiana Offensive Player of the Year as TSF paid tribute to finest from Northern Kentucky, Dayton, Cincinnati and Southeast Indiana area’s high school gridiron at the Year in Review Show on Thursday night at Dave and Buster’s in Springdale, Ohio. This is the third time in the last four seasons that a junior has won this award.
Patton finished 2014 with 1,231 yards passing, 1,116 more on the ground while accounting for 33 touchdowns (26 rushing, seven passing). He was also named the EIAC Division 4A Co-offensive MVP for his efforts.
