Put out an A.P.B. on Glen Este
- Updated: September 11, 2015
A blocked extra point by Glen Este’s Nathan Stone with 3;34 left in the game was the difference in the final outcome as the Trojans won a fantastically entertaining affair at Mount Healthy. Glen Este erased a 14-point halftime deficit at Mount Healthy and finally took its first lead of the game with five minutes left in the third quarter. Trojans remain unbeaten after surviving a slugfest that saw both teams combine for 95 points and 958 yards of total offense.
Glen Este head coach Nick Ayers along with quarterback Tyler Pilcher and running back Robby Boone are the Trojans band on the run – The GE A.P.B. In his fourth season at the helm of his alma mater Ayers has turned this program around as the Trojans have now won eight of their last nine regular season games.
An explosive Glen Este offense is now averaging 50 points per contest and has quality wins over Winton Woods and the Owls this season. It all gets starter with Pilcher. The senior threw for 223 yards and three touchdowns on Thursday night. His top target was classmate Jacob Hamilton who had six receptions for 133 yards and a touchdown. It was his second straight game with more than 100 yards receiving.
Boone continues to be one of 2015’s best stories. The senior ran for 204 of the Trojans 206 yards in the game. His four touchdowns up his season total to 11.
Mount Healthy quarterback David Montgomery did everything in his power to keep the Owls in this affair. He set career highs of 358 yards rushing, three touchdowns passes and 499 yards of total offense. It was the eighth time in the senior career that he has ran for more than 200 yards in a game. It was also the second time that Montgomery has ever had four rushing touchdowns in a contest.
Next Friday Glen Este has to avoid a potential letdown at they host a hungry Loveland squad. Mount Healthy who has lost two game sin a row for the first time since 2011 will try and regroup with a trip to Talawanda.
