Beechwood takes down NCC

Beechwood wrapped up its nearly-perfect regular season, and its quarterback finished it with nearly-perfect numbers.
Senior Kyle Fieger was 17-for-23 for 252 yards and four touchdowns as the Tigers beat Newport Central Catholic, 31-14 on Friday.
He enters the playoffs 104 of 143 for 1,920 yards, 28 TDs and just one pick.
Senior Brett Slusher caught nine passes for 170 yards and three scores, and he intercepted a pass and returned it 31 yards.
Senior Ethan Stringer posted 116 ground yards and one touchdown on 28 rushes, and he also had a TD reception.
Thoroughbreds senior Jacob Smith finished with 16 carries for 113 yards and one score, as Beechwood outgained NCC, 391-275.
The Tigers will open the postseason vs. Eminence next week while NewCath hosts Gallatin County.
