Team of the Week – Week 8
- Updated: October 18, 2015
Gold Star Chili and TriStateFootball.com are partnering to present the High School Football Team of the Week during the 2015 regular season. Each week 8-10 schools will be nominated from the Greater Cincinnati area to be included in an online voting poll to determine a winner.
The voting is open now until Friday morning at 9:00 a.m. Voters can vote once per hour, per IP address.
Once a team has won, they were ineligible to be nominated a second time. All of the winning teams will receive a trophy to be presented at their school by Gold Star Chili.
Here are this week’s nominations:
BADIN (6-2)
Badin continued their playoff push by taking down Chaminade-Julienne 29-9 on the road.
BETHEL-TATE (5-2)
The Tigers got a step closer to the school’s first-ever post-season berth with a 34-6 victory at Batavia.
MIDDLETOWN (3-5)
The Middies played the role of spoiler well traveling to Bud Acus Field and knocking off Sycamore in a lopsided affair, 42-6.
GLEN ESTE (7-1)
Glen Este picked up their seventh win in a 42-0 shutout over Anderson and have now outscored their last three foes by a 127-14 margin.
HARRISON (5-3)
For the fifth time in six weeks, Harrison picked up a win as they knocked off Ross in convincing fashion at Wildcats Stadium.
HIGHLANDS (3-5)
Highlands picked up their second straight win by knocking off Covington Catholic in a Saturday matinee in Park Hills, 14-10.
LAWRENCEBURG (5-4)
The Tigers wrapped up their regular season a 50-0 win over South Dearborn. The Tigers are winners of three straight and four of their last five games.
MIAMISBURG (7-1)
The Vikings remained in a first-place tie in the GWOC South after spoiling Senior Night at Xenia by taking down the home team, 38-35.
RYLE (7-1)
After knocking off Conner, the Raiders take an early lead in the district race and are clicking on all cylinders as the playoffs near.
WINTON WOODS (5-2)
The Warriors shut out an Elder offense that was averaging over 38 points per game in an impressive 14-0 home win and showed they won’t be an easy out in November.
