Williamsburg wins, stays in playoff hunt
- Updated: October 23, 2015
The dream of a playoff appearance is still alive in Williamsburg, as the Wildcats drove the ball 95 yards late in the fourth quarter to pull out a 20-14 win over Bethel-Tate.
The Wildcats have sole possession of first place in the SBAAC National Division. Dawson Davis was the back that scored the game-winning seven-yard touchdown run, but also Spencer Clowery and Kurt Meisberger contributed on the 95-yard drive.
Clowery carried the football 23 times for 86 yards and two touchdowns. Meisberger led Williamsburg with 115 rushing yards, and Davis finished with 99 yards.
Bethel-Tate running back Stephen Cooper ran the football for 128 yards and a touchdown.
It was Williamsburg’s fourth straight win, and coming into the game it was ranked seventh in Division VI. The Wildcats are seeking their second playoff appearance in three years.
Bethel-Tate entered the week sixth in the Division V so after this week’s loss, Bethel-Tate could be playing its last game next week.
