Fenwick (12-0) rushed for 238 yards on the ground and won the turnover battle and that proved to be the difference. The Falcons shut out Alter 28-0 earlier this year and once again made things tough for the Knights’ offense.

Seniors Nathan Jeffers and Michael Sheridan each had a touchdown on the ground. Sheridan led the way with 113 yards on 21 carries. Jeffers added 73 yards of his own on 11 attempts. The duo has combined for 2,043 yards and 27 touchdowns rushing in 2015.

Jeffers put the first points on the scoreboard with an 8-yard rushing touchdown 17 minutes into the contest. Fenwick took a 7-0 lead into the locker room.

Junior Matt Ruffolo got Alter (10-2) its first points with a 27-yard, third-quarter field goal.

The game was 7-3 in favor of the Falcon entering the final frame and Fenwick got consecutive touchdowns to seal the deal. Sheridan hit pay dirt on a 28-yard scamper by a 3-yard TD run by Alan Nix. On both scores the Matthew Hirko kick failed and that kept things at 19-3.

The Knights added a touchdown late when Jacob Brinkman pulled in a 17-yard TD catch with 0:04 left in the game.

Senior Jimmy Gephart had an interception in the win and teammates Joe Sora, Sammy DeBlasi, Logan Gearhart all added fumble recoveries in the win.

Fenwick is now set to face the Clinton-Massie Falcons next week in the regional finals and a site to be announced on Sunday.
