Irish outlast Trotwood-Madison again

For the third time in the last four seasons Toledo Central Catholic has knocked Trotwood-Madison out of the playoffs, 21-13 at Sidney Memorial Stadium on Friday.

A frantic pace to start the game gave way to defensive struggle that saw neither team change the scoreboard after intermission.

Trotwood-Madison running back Raveion Hargrove ran for 200 yards on 25 carries and two touchdowns in the first half. The Irish made the adjustments at break and limited the Rams sophomore to just 25 yards on 15 carries after the break.

The Toledo Central Catholic rushing attack was even more impressive with 266 yards while averaging 8.1 yards per carry. Michael Warren II led the team with 183 yards on 28 carries and a score. Tre’von Wade had 52 yards on two rushes that both went for touchdowns.

The Irish return to the state title game for a second straight year.
