Roundup: Dayton – Week 13 (Friday)

Six and counting for Trotwood-Madison
For the sixth straight season Trotwood-Madison (10-3) has won a Regional title. The Rams flexed their muscle in the trenches holding off Wapakoneta (12-1), 33-3. Running back Raveion Hargrove ran for 323 yards and three touchdowns. The Redskins had no answers for the 5-foot-7, 165 pound wrecking machine. Hargrove has now run for more than 300 yards four times in Trotwood-Madison’s last five contests. On the night the Rams offense shredded Wapak for 501 yards including 428 on the ground. Hargrove raised his gaudy rushing totals to 2,816 yards and 39 touchdowns (27 rushing) on the season. The Trotwood-Madison defense was equally impressive coming up with four takeaways while holding the Redskins to a season low three points. The only two losses for Wapakoneta the last two years have come in Division III, Region 10 regional final games.

Coldwater sinks Brookville
Defending Division V state champion Coldwater (13-0) continued its journey toward a fourth straight state title by taking out previously unbeaten Brookville (12-1), 31-13. The victory gave the Cavaliers their seventh straight Regional crown. Chris Post ran for three touchdowns and Kyle McKibben added 13 points on a touchdown catch, four extra points and a field goal as Coldwater jumped out to 17-7 halftime advantage over the Blue Devils and never looked back. A great season ended for Brookville who was looking for the school’s first Regional title since 1976.
