Larkin nixes UC for Northwestern
- Updated: December 14, 2015

The University of Cincinnati football recruiting Class of 2016 suffered a major blow this weekend as La Salle star Jeremy Larkin decommitted from the Bearcats. Larkin, a two-time Ohio Division II Co-Offensive Player of the Year, has decided to pursue his football future at Northwestern and in the Big 10.
He was the catalyst for the Lancers, who have won state titles the past two years.
The Greater Catholic League’s all-time touchdown leader sent a Tweet out on Sunday stating, “I’m sorry to say but I have decided to officially decommit from the University of Cincinnati. After talking it over with my family and coaches, I’ve decided this is what I needed to do.”
Larkin will join Loveland’s Jake Saunders in Evanston next fall as part of the Wildcats Class of 2016 recruiting class. He will be reunited with former teammate, Jordan Thompson, who has played in 12 games for the Wildcats as a true freshman this season.
Northwestern, who is currently ranked No. 13 in the country, has done well recruiting in Southwest Ohio. They are currently getting contributions from Keith Watkins (Moeller), Ifeadi Odenigbo (Centerville) and Drew Smith (Colerain) as well as Thompson.
