–This will be the fifth season of football for the Eastern Cincinnati Conference. Loveland running back Luke Waddell heads into the 2016 campaign as the ECC’s all-time leader in rushing yards (4,841), rushing touchdowns (57), total touchdowns (73), all-purpose yards (6,416), is tied for the lead touchdown receptions (16), is second receptions (78, just 19 from #1) and receiving yards (1,579, just 281 from #1).
–Springboro won its first ever playoff game in 2015.
–Belmont, Bethel-Tate and Indian Lake made the playoffs for the first time in school history last fall.
–Colerain hasn’t lost a game in Greater Miami Conference play since 2008 when it fell to Middletown. The Cardinals have won 52 conference games in a row since that loss. They have won or shared the last 16 GMC titles.
–Colerain head coach Tom Bolden raised his record to 96-16 in nine seasons as the Cardinals head coach. Half of those losses have come in the playoffs.
–Clinton-Massie has won at least 10 games for 11 straight seasons.
–Wayne, Brookville, Bishop Fenwick, Indian Hill and Simon Kenton all went 10-0 during the ‘15 regular season.
–Trotwood-Madison won its sixth straight regional title but the Rams seniors did not make it past the state semi-finals the last three years.
–Trotwood-Madison has won at least 10 consecutive games in each of the last six years.
–Southwest Ohio has been home to seven of the last 10 Division II state champions: 2006 – Piqua; ‘07 – Anderson; ’09 – Winton Woods; ’11 – Trotwood-Madison; ’13 – Loveland; ’14 & ’15 – La Salle.
–Alter has made the playoffs 15 consecutive years. Clinton-Massie has a string of 14 straight postseason appearances.
–Moeller had a streak of 13 consecutive playoff berths end in 2015.
–La Salle has won 10 consecutive Division II playoff games. Loveland has a five-game Division II playoff winning streak currently going.
–Highlands will begin 2016 with their sixth different starting quarterback in the last six years.
–Newport Central Catholic has been to the Kentucky Class 2A state championship five times in the last six seasons. The Thoroughbreds won titles in 2010 & 2012.
–With the additions of Stebbins and Tippecanoe the Greater Western Ohio Conference will morph from three divisions to four. The GWOC now has 20 schools as members.
