Dixie Heights’ Torres torches Milford

Dixie Heights scored the first three touchdowns of the game and beat back a late comeback in a 28-13 win over Milford on Friday.
The Colonels led, 13-0 at halftime on touchdown runs of 58 and 30 yards. Dixie Heights extended the lead to 21 on a Noah Smedley 1-yard run and ensuing conversion run by Cameron Barrett.
The Eagles battled back with a pair of TDs late in the third quarter to cut their deficit to eight with 1:32 left in the third quarter, but Barrett broke a 76-yard run for the clinching score just 50 seconds later.
The Colonels outgained Milford, 442-228, including 418-206 on the ground. The teams combined for just 46 passing yards.
Torres finished with 20 carries for 288 yards and his two scores, and Barrett ended the night with 113 yards on the ground, one TD and the conversion for eight points.
Both teams are home next week. Milford hosts Norwood while Dixie Heights faces Simon Kenton.
