Oak Hills gets first home win since 2014

Despite losing its first two games of the season under new head coach Kyle Prosser, the Oak Hills Highlanders find themselves on a roll, beating a struggling Middletown team 29-14 on Friday night at Betz Memorial Stadium.
The first half was all Highlanders as Oak Hills found itself leading 22-0 at halftime.
Oak Hills got its scoring started on a nine-yard pass from Jacob Woycke to Brandon Wieck early in the first quarter to go up 7-0.

The Highlanders followed that score up with an 87-yard rush from Kyle Montag and after a missed extra point, Oak Hills led 13-0. After a Middletown safety, Oak Hills led 15-0 at the end of the first quarter.
Oak Hills’ Cameron Naber found the end zone on a five-yard run in the second quarter, putting the Highlanders up 22-0 at the half.
Middletown got on the board in the second half when Blake Marshall found Will Thomas from 13 yards out. The second Middie score happened two possessions later when Zach Maloney broke free for a 91-yard rush for the first Middie score of the fourth quarter, and for a moment, Middletown looked like it could be threatening.
However, Oak Hills put it away with four minutes left in the game on Montag’s second rushing touchdown of the game, sealing the 29-14 victory for the Highlanders.
Woycke led the Highlanders offense with 208 passing yards on 19 completions on 30 attempts and a touchdown. Montag led the rushing attack with 163 yards and two touchdowns. That gives Montag eight rushing touchdowns on the year.
Zach Maloney led the Middies in passing attempts and yards with 22 and 76, respectively, but it was Blake Marshall who threw the only touchdown for Middletown. Marshall went three-for-four with 28 yards. Both quarterbacks threw an interception each.
Oak Hills (3-3, 2-1 GMC) travels next Friday night to West Chester to take on the Firebirds of Lakota West. Like Middletown, Lakota West has yet to win a game in 2016.
Middletown (0-6, 0-3 GMC) will face its toughest opponent next Friday night when it hosts the Colerain Cardinals. Colerian knocked off Mason 30-17 on Friday night.
