Princeton’s defense propels victory

Princeton’s Tyree Mills ran for 120 yards, as the Vikings defeated the Lakota West Firebirds 26-7.
The Vikings (5-1) enjoyed a shutout from their defense in the second half, after only allowing one touchdown in the first.
Solomon Reed helped his team strike first when he scored on a 60-yard touchdown pass to CJ Henderson, giving Princeton a 6-0 lead.
His team went on to jump out to a 20-0 lead in the second quarter when he threw his third touchdown pass of the half.
Reed finished the night with 208 yards on 10 of 18 passing and three touchdowns, but was picked off two times.
Princeton’s defense scored the team’s lone touchdown of the second half on a 96-yard interception return by Raymond Kozlowski.
They picked off Lakota West’s (0-6) Tony White III four times and held him to 91 yards on 11 of 26 passing.
Princeton travels to Hamilton to play their next game at 7 p.m. Oct. 7. Lakota West plays Oak Hills at home on the same date and time.
