Week 4: TSF Rankings Update
- Updated: September 12, 2016
Three weeks are down and seven more to go in the regular season for teams in Ohio while most schools in Kentucky and Indiana already have four games under their belts.
Remarkably less than a month into the 2016 high school campaign we are down to just 28 undefeated teams left standing in Southwest Ohio, Northern Kentucky and Eastern Indiana. Most of that group of teams has made their way in to our latest TSF Team Rankings.
Here is a look at how things are shaping up in this week’s update:
RANKINGS – OHIO DI
The marquee games from this past Friday could not have been scripted any better. Colerain maintained its hold on the top spot after squeaking out a 6-0 victory over La Salle, the top-ranked team in the TSF Ohio Division II-III Rankings.
The Big Blue of Hamilton have cracked our top 10 following their defeat of Kings this past Friday as they moved to 3-0. Centerville (1-2) dropped out of the rankings following their loss to Pickerington North.
RANKINGS – OHIO DII-DIII
La Salle’s six-point loss to Colerain didn’t cost them their top spot in our latest poll. However, Kings wasn’t as fortunate. In a real shocker Kings fell to Hamilton this past Friday and as a result the Knights dropped one spot in the rankings, coming in at No. 3 behind Miamisburg.
The only newcomer to the poll this week is Franklin. The Wildcats are racking up some quality wins as they have now beaten Piqua, Edgewood and Carlisle.
RANKINGS – OHIO DIV-DVII
Seven of this week’s Top 10 teams remain undefeated in our small-school rankings. The only real movement in the poll was Valley View making its way into the rankings at No. 10 and Badin falling out of the mix.
Shakeups are likely ahead after this weekend though as the schedule is highlighted by #1 Indian Hill hosting #3 Wyoming in the CHL opener. Elsewhere, No. 5 CHCA entertains No. 6 Taft in a battle that features some amazing athletes.
RANKINGS – NKY
Several teams are starting to heat up and the latest rankings are reflecting that. After losing their openers both No. 3 CovCath and No. 4 Cooper have won three in a row.
Highlands is on the opposite end of that spectrum. Following the Bluebirds third straight loss they have dropped out of the poll. They are replaced by Dixie Heights.
