Lakota East edges Lakota West 21-14
- Updated: October 28, 2016
After leading 21-0 with 3:08 remaining in the first half, the Lakota East Thunderhawks allowed the Lakota West Firebirds (2-8) to pull within one possession midway through the fourth quarter, but ultimately claimed the 21-14 victory.
The Thunderhawks (5-5) pounded it on the ground, running it 52 times for 234 yards. Quarterback Dylan Fry led the way with 105 yards on 16 carries.
Fry was limited through the air, however, only completing two passes on five attempts for 50 yards. He also through one interception on the night.
Firebird quarterback Tony White III’s big night was not enough as he finished 15 of 18 for 102 passing yards while picking up 64 yards on the ground, using his legs to score the team’s two only touchdowns.
Robinson finished the season with 153 attempts for 867 yards and 46 receptions for 503 yards. He found the end zone 15 times throughout the year ― 12 times on the ground.
The game was revenge for Lakota East as they were dominated at home last season, losing to the Firebirds 35-0.
