LexCath rallies to top Highlands

Lexington Catholic ran off the final 14 points, including a late rushing touchdown, as the Knights edged Highlands, 21-18 on Friday.
The Bluebirds threw for 284 yards and rushed for just 72 in the loss, Highlands’ third straight after a 2-0 start. Senior Carl Schoellman was 21-for-28 for 284 yards and a touchdown in the losing effort.
Junior Grady Cramer caught two passes for a team-best 68 yards and had the Bluebirds’ lone receiving score.
Cooper Schwalbach rushed 21 times for 81 yards to pace Highlands’ ground attack.
LexCath managed 413 yards of offense, including 259 on the road.
The schedule doesn’t get any easier for the Bluebirds, who will play Simon Kenton on the road next week.
