2018 Snapshot: Scott
- Updated: April 3, 2018
Building a winner takes time and belief. Scott took another step in the resurrection of its program last fall. The Eagles won the second most games in school history. They were exciting on offense averaging 371.8 yards per game and lighting up the scoreboard for 33.25 points per contest. Defensively they made things happen by forcing 28 turnovers.
For those same kind of results in 2018 head coach Dan Woolley will need his youngsters to perform early and often. Numbers are thin so staying healthy is a must. The Eagles have some experienced talent that are can be difference makers. The freshman and sophomores will have to play beyond the years. The winning ways will continue if they step up.
Class 4A, District 7
2017 RECORD: 8-4, 4-0 Class 4A, District 7
COACH: Dan Woolley (38-30 @ Scott, six years; 38-30 overall)
TOP RETURNEES
Quincy Perrin, Jr, RB – One of the top players in Northern Kentucky. Perrin is coming off a sophomore season where he ran for 1,441 yards, averaged 8.8 a carry and found the end zone 16 times on the ground. He has run for 100 yards or more nine times at the varsity level.
Chad Ohmer, Sr, QB – Became the first Eagles quarterback to throw for more than 1,000 yards since 2008. Finished with 1,064 yards and 12 touchdowns through the air in his first year as a starter. “He is a great leader who will see more action on defense. He’s very aggressive,” Woolley states.
Sabeon Turner, Sr, WR/DB – The leader of the Eagles defense. Turner will be responsible for all the coverage checks. He was in on 53 total tackles with two interceptions as a junior.
Jared Kelsay, Sr, MLB – Moved from strong safety to middle linebacker midway through last season. He wound up leading the team with 128 total tackles. Kelsay also blocked two punts.
Kyren Simpson, WR/DB – A transfer from North College Hill who worked his way into starting lineup halfway through last season, Simpson led the team with four interceptions.
Eric Linton, Jr, OL – Has started every game since his freshman year. Already a 2 year starter on the Offensive line. Keeps getting stronger and we love running behind him
David Patrick, Sr, RB/LB – A perfect complement to Perrin out of the backfield, Patrick will get more carries than he has the past two seasons. He has 984 yards and 12 touchdowns rushing in his career.
Mike Miley, Sr OL/DL – A newcomer but the fact that is he a senior is a huge plus.
