Wyoming Cruises To Win Over CHCA

Wyoming improves to 3-0 with Friday night’s 33-10 win against CHCA at home.

The game was delayed because of the lightning in the area, but that did not prevent the Wyoming offense from slowing down once they got on the field. ‘

Wyoming only scored 14 points in the first half and only ahead by four, but then the offense really got rolling after halftime.

Cowboys senior running back Pierson Rogers started the scoring on a 2-yard carry that capped off a 9-play, 60-yard drive.

Wyoming junior quarterback Evan Prater scrambled for a 21-yard run last in the first quarter to extend the lead to 14-0.

CHCA was not just going to hand Wyoming the win as they fought back in the second quarter. Junior Cole Fisher found senior Julian Herman on a 78-yard strike to narrow the lead 14-7.

CHCA kicker Mike Phillips added a 27-yard field goal with just over two minutes left in the half.

In the second it was all Prater and the rest of the Wyoming offense. Prater scored two more touchdowns, both being 5 yards out. He also threw a touchdown to Joey Edmonds as that was already Edmonds’ fifth touchdown reception this season.

Prater finished the night with 189 yards.

This was the least amount of points the Wyoming defense has allowed this season. They allowed 14 points in the first two games, both were wins.

CHCA drops its second straight game after losing to Indian Hills last week. They look to rebound against Holy Cross next week. Wyoming will put its undefeated record on the line on the road against Taylor.
