Moeller falls short versus Scott County

CINCINNATI, ohio – Mother nature played a big part in the scoring of this game, where there was a combined 17 points between the teams. In the end, Scott County (KY) squeezed by Moeller, 10-7. Despite the rain, it was a pretty clean game with neither team committing a turnover.

Moeller and Scott County combined for 97 yards in the air, with 11 total completions and Moeller having 91 of those yards. On the other hand, when it came to running the ball, Scott County was all over that, leading the game with 275 rushing yards to Moeller’s 87.

Scott County running back Austin Barnett had 29 attempts for 190 yards along with one touchdown. Gabriel Jaco Duffy, Moeller defensive lineman had 13 total tackles with seven of those being solo. Moeller linebacker, Luke Szabados, added 11 total tackles with nine of them being solo.

Both teams struggled getting to the sticks on third downs with Scott County going 5-of-14 and Moeller going 3-of-11. Scott County was 60 percent (3/5) on fourth-down conversions, with two of them on the game clinching drive.

It was a messy hard-fought game with both teams having to adjust due to weather but Scott County was able to hold on to a small three point lead in the fourth quarter to take down the Crusaders at their place.
