Elder picks up 600th win

Elder picked up their 600th career win in a hard-fought battle against Indianapolis Cathedral on the road. The game was exciting all the way to the finish with both teams putting up points in this shootout. Elder’s Michael Bittner kicked off the scoring with a 3yard TD run in the first quarter but that lead didn’t last for long with Indianapolis Cathedral’s running back Chon’dr Cissell rushing for a touchdown to even things up at 7-7.Each team matched one another with scores as Cathedral led 21-20 at half. The third quarter was a defensive battle for both teams not letting up a single point. However, in the fourth quarter Elder came out swinging scoring back-to-back touchdowns to go up 33-21.

However, Cathedral would not go away as they scored a touchdown and recovered an onside kick which would later lead to another score, giving them the lead again at 34-33.

Senior Elder quarterback, Michael Bittner was able to lead his team down the field and rush for the game-winning touchdown with 34 seconds left on the clock. Michael Bittner was 11/19 for 176 yards and one interception in the air and added 16 attempts for 52 yards and three touchdowns on the ground in the big win on the road.

For Indianapolis Cathedral, running back Chon’dr Cissell had 15 attempts for 135 yards with two touchdowns, but the team just didn’t have enough to hold off Elder.
