Arvie’s Army of Owls Wins Fourth Straight
- Updated: October 13, 2018
CINCINNATI, ohio – Five weeks ago Mount Healthy suffered its worst loss in nine-plus years under head coach Arvie Crouch, losing at Little Miami, 41-0. It left his team sitting at 1-3. Crouch told his troops it was time to “reboot.” The Owls have responded in flying fashion. Friday’s win over Northwest was the fourth win in a row for Crouch’s squad after hitting their lowest point of the season.
Mount Healthy was splendid on defense holding the Knights to just 77 yards of total offense including zero yards passing. In fact, it was the third straight week that Northwest hasn’t recorded a yard through the air. Since gaining 207 yards passing in Week 4 versus Edgewood the Knights have had minus -three yards throwing the ball.
The Owls have had a resurgence on offense thanks to the return of fullback and captain, Tyron Mincy. This was Mincy’s third week back from injury and he punished Northwest for 158 yards and four touchdowns rushing. The senior has all of his 412 yards and eight touchdowns on the ground since coming back.
Classmate Michael Crawford had his best day passing of the season with 120 yards and a scoring toss to Deonta Hall. Crawford also ran for 92 yards. Hall had career highs of five catches and 74 yards receiving.
