Bombers Ground Attack Does In La Salle

CINCINNATI, ohio – An inconsistent running game has plagued St. Xavier all season but Friday night they rediscovered the ground attack that levelled La Salle. The Bombers snapped a three-game losing streak racking up 410 yards of total offense, 214 of that rushing. In St. Xavier’s four losses they ran the ball a combined 90 times for just 153 yards.

Senior Chris Payne came into the contest having run for 126 yards on 43 carries in the first six weeks. In fact, he had more yards receiving (161). Payne found big holes against the lancers running for 144 yards on 13 totes with touchdown jaunts of 32 and 52-yards.

The Bombers aerial assault was also aided by the work being done on the ground. Wyatt Hudepohl went 9-12 for 193 yards with three touchdown tosses and no interceptions. Jared Kreimer was on the receiving end of two of those touchdowns and had three receptions for 74 yards on the night.
