Colerain Takes Thunder Out Of Lakota East Offense

Colerain continues to roll through the GMC with a 42-0 win over Lakota East on the road Friday night.

Just like last week against Mason, the Cardinals were able to dominate in all three phrases of the game. They scored at least one touchdown on offense, defense and special teams. To go along with the four offensive touchdowns, Colerain scored on a fumble recovery, and special teams blocked a punt and returned it to the endzone. It was 42-0 at halftime, which was the same halftime score last Friday against Mason.

Colerain senior Ivan Pace Jr. led the team with 105 yards on nine carries and had a seven-yard touchdown. This was Pace’s third 100-yard game in the last four games. On defense Pace had six tackles and a sack. J.J. Davis was second on the team with 76 yards and scored the team’s first touchdown on the night.

The Colerain defense held Lakota East to only 75 yards and forced two turnovers. The Cardinals have only allowed one touchdown in the first half and that came in Week 2 against St. Xavier.

This is the fifth straight game was scoring at least 40 points.

Colerain will play its final home game next Friday against Fairfield. The GMC-rival Fairfield is also undefeated in conference play and only lost one game this season. That one loss was by one point to Springfield in the second week. Since the loss, Fairfield has defeated its opponents by a scoring margin of 27 points.

Lakota East will head to Hamilton to seek its sixth win of the season.
