Like they have done so many times this year, Taft put away an opponent with a barrage of first half points. The Senators built a 20-0 advantage in the first quarter and never looked back versus visiting Scott. The 14 points that Taft gave up, tied its total for the whole season (and in a game).

“Our goal was to give up no more than 50 points (this season),” Senators head coach Jeff Cargile said. They are on their way to achieving that goal, needing to hold their final three foes to just 22 total points. Friday nights defensive effort forced six turnovers (five fumble recoveries, one interception. Senior Chris’Seon Stringer had a scoop and score fumble recovery. It was the fourth touchdown on 23 takeaways by Taft this season. Six different Senators have at least two takeaways through six contests.

Offensively, quarterback Cleveland Farmer set the tone for the victors. The senior amassed 254 yards off total offense (154 pass, 100 rush) and accounted for three touchdowns (two pass, one rush). His only mistake was on a deep pass that Scott senior Sabeon Turner made an outstanding play on, returning 94-yards for a score
