East Central blanks Harrison

ST. LEON, Indiana – East Central won yet another battle in the “War on 74”, as they rolled past visiting Harrison 42-0 on Friday as the Blitz 5 Comeback Tour made its way to the Hoosier State for Week 2.

The Trojans only led by seven after the opening frame, but put the game away with a 28-point, second-quarter effort. Josh Ringer got things started with a 16-yard TD run in the game’s opening minutes before suffering an ankle injury.

East Central would have plenty of firepower even without Ringer and they got stellar defensive play all night. Through the first two weeks the Trojans’ defense has ceded just six points.

A real turning point in the game was when Sam Ringer killed a Harrison drive with an interception. It was 14-0 and the Wildcats were driving to try to cut the lead to seven. However, after the pick Eli Aston took it from four yards out to make a 21-point lead. The Trojans never looked back.

With the victory East Central has now won five straight and seven of the last eight contests in the series.
