Medley, Gibson, Garvin Draw Top Accolades in Division II
- Updated: November 17, 2021
Jasiah Medley led the way for the Piqua Indians as they finished the regular season undefeated. He ran for 1,959 yards and 35 rushing touchdowns. The Senior averaged 163 yards per game on the ground en route to being named OPSWA Division II offensive player of the year.
The Winton Woods Warriors were led by a stout defense yet again. The engine that made it go was Senior Defensive Lineman Jay’ron Gibson. He tallied 14 sacks which led the ECC and had 64 total tackles and a fumble recovery. His presence helped the Warriors allow only 72 yards per game on the ground and 10 points total. He is your OPSWA Division II Defensive player of the year.
Leading Kings to their first outright ECC Championship since 2018, Knights Head Coach Alex Garvin takes home the OPSWA Division II coach of the year. Kings finished the Regular Season undefeated for the first time since 2014.
