- Updated: December 27, 2021
They are the the dudes with the relentless motors. Pass rushers make life so difficult for opposing backfields. In 2021, 15 players in the TriState Football coverage are recorded more than 10.0 sacks on the season.
Kylyn Macklin, had remarkable campaign with an eye-popping 22.5 sacks including a career high five against playoff team, CCPA. He had at least one sack in the final six games of his career and 14.0 overall in that span. That earned the Purcell Marian (7-4) senior OPSWA Division V First Team All-Ohio and the Miami Valley Conference Gray Division Defensive Player of the Year honors.
Four of the top seven players on the leaderboard were conference/division Defensive Players of the Year – Macklin (MVC Scarlet), Gibson (ECC & Ohio Division II DPOY), Logan Neu (GCL Co-ed) and Gio Higgins (MVC Gray).
