Blitz 5 Top 25: Week 6

Last Friday’s amazing evening of football has led to all kinds of movement in the Blitz 5 Top 25 presented by TriStateFootball.com as the first half of the regular season ends with flair. The top 10 sees the top three teams and No. 10 all staying in their same spots. Fairfield, Elder and Kings all moved up a tad while Princeton, St. Xavier and La Salle dropped slightly.

Ryle plummeted 10 places in the poll. The Raiders get a week off to regroup after falling in a track meet with Highlands. Fellow Kentucky rival Covington Catholic rose five spots in the rankings. The Colonels only loss was to Elder in their opener. No team fell out of the top 25.

This weekend there are three top 10 battles and seven contests overall with ranked squads facing off. It appears that more movement in the polls seems inevitable as the best teams try to separate themselves from the pack heading down the back stretch of the 2022 season.

Here is a look at the latest Blitz 5 Top 25:

  2. Moeller (5-0, 1-0) – LAST WEEK: won at then #6 St. Xavier (2-3, 0-1), 20-17. NEXT UP: 9/23 – at #9 La Salle (2-3).
  3. Winton Woods (5-0, 2-0) – LAST WEEK: won at Little Miami (2-3, 0-2), 41-7. NEXT UP: 9/23 – #18 ANDERSON (3-2, 1-1).
  4. Fairfield (5-0, 4-0) – LAST WEEK: won at Oak Hills (2-3, 1-3), 45-17. NEXT UP: 9/23 – #6 PRINCETON (4-1, 3-1).
